Michael Wheeler is the executive vice president of the Global IP Network division at NTT DATA Michael is responsible for all P&L, Operations, Engineering, Sales and customer relationship activities for the Global IP Network (GIN) business around the world, serving in this role since 2009.

Prior to his current role, Michael led the GIN sales and business development organization, including direct sales, account management, indirect channel sales, sales engineering, marketing, product management and business development activities in the Americas. Michael was part of the original start up team with Verio (Nasdaq: VRIO) in 1997, where he led several different sales organizations.  He transitioned to a senior leadership role at NTT America following the acquisition of Verio by NTT America’s parent company, NTT Communications, in August of 2000.

Previously, Michael served as a principal at StreamGroup where he was responsible for strategic alliance and business development for the firm’s consulting and business incubator practice.  Additionally, Michael served in a senior management role with Expotel Corporation, as well as being a co-founder of Cyber Mortgage, which was acquired by IndyMac Bank.
