Matt Steinberg is a Technology and Public Policy Scholar at Georgetown University’s McCourt School, where his research focuses on the intersection of AI, democracy, and media. He currently works on the Election Officials Communication Tracker project, analyzing how local governments are utilizing social media throughout the electoral process. Before entering policy, Matt was a development executive in the entertainment industry, working on Oscar- and Emmy-winning film and television projects. He brings a unique perspective drawing on both creative and policy experience to explore how emerging technologies can be designed to strengthen democratic systems and empower public-interest media.
