Jason Gerbsman
Genesis Mission and Artificial Intelligence,

Jason is a senior national security strategist with two decades of experience shaping U.S. nuclear policy and programs. He has a distinguished record of leading high-stakes initiatives across the Department of Energy (DOE), the Intelligence Community, and the Department of War, consistently bridging the gap between the scientific, military, and policy communities to achieve national security objectives.
In his current role, Jason is at the forefront of the DOE/NNSA Genesis Mission, a critical effort to revolutionize the nuclear security enterprise through the implementation of modern infrastructure and harnessing advanced artificial intelligence and supercomputing capabilities. His mission is to ensure the U.S. nuclear deterrent remains overwhelmingly superior and its production enterprise is agile and resilient. His leadership is central to implementing NNSA's AI Strategy and integrating agency-wide contributions to the transformative Genesis initiative.
Throughout his career, Jason has held several key positions, including Senior Policy Advisor to the NNSA Administrator (DOE’s Under Secretary for Nuclear Security) and Staff Director of the interagency Nuclear Weapons Council. His contributions have been recognized with the OSD Exceptional Civilian Service Medal among other recognitions.
Jason holds an M.S. in National Security Strategy from the National War College and an MBA from Georgetown University. He has also completed executive education at MIT's Seminar XXI and Georgetown's Project Management program, among other specialized leadership courses. Away from work, he enjoys family time, travel, and working on classic vehicles.
