Cindy Liu
Cindy is a highly accomplished technology executive with an impeccable track record of driving strategy and achieving results through execution. She is a trusted partner for defining purpose and means, and “connecting the dots” to ensure alignment across product, business, operations and technology. Cindy combines an innovative mindset and the ability to achieve visions through building scalable products and solutions. She is effective at operating in fast paced and high growth environments on a global scale in data, AI, fintech, SaaS and telecom industries.
Cindy is currently engineering director of Data Discovery and Protection at Google where she leads global teams and is accountable for the vision, strategy and execution of next-generation data and AI infrastructure embedded with data governance and protection, that powers Google’s suite of flagship products such as Gemini, Search, Maps, Shopping, YouTube, etc.
Prior to Google, Cindy was an executive in fintech as the Vice President of Enterprise Data and Machine Learning at Capital One where she drove the company’s data transformation strategy and roadmap that resulted in the modernization of the enterprise data ecosystem that became a blueprint for other financial institutions. In two years, she led her team to file 18 patents in data analytics, natural language processing and data privacy. Cindy was on the advisory board of Capital One Tech Commercialization that productized internal technology solutions for go-to-market in the fintech industry. Cindy also spent a year at a San Francisco based startup as VP of Digital Platforms at TalentSky, and grew digital content by 70% during that time. Before Talentsky, Cindy worked at Equinix for 9 years where she had several key roles including Global Head of Strategy and Programs. She was part of the leadership team that defined corporate strategy and led a portfolio of transformation initiatives globally in both business and technology that enabled Equinix 17% year-over-year growth.
Prior to Equinix, Cindy worked at Level 3 Communications for 6 years in various software development and management roles, including an expat assignment in Hong Kong to establish its IT infrastructure that enabled company’s successful opening in the Asia Pacific region. Throughout her career, Cindy has been sought out as an advisor by venture capital and private equity firms who seek thought leadership and understanding of trends, markets and solutions in data, cloud and software industries. Cindy is an expert in data management, data analytics, data privacy, digital and data transformation, go-to-market launch and technology trends. She is also fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
