HENOX IT & Datacenters Enters Strategic Partnership with Subconnex to Support New India-US Subsea Digital Corridor

Partnership aims to strengthen India’s global connectivity and enable a resilient Indo-Pacific route linking India, Southeast Asia, Guam, and the United States

HENOX IT and Datacenters Private Limited today  announced a strategic collaboration with Subconnex Pte Ltd, a global subsea network developer building the SCNX subsea digital corridor between India and the United States.

As part of the collaboration, HENOX is evaluating a substantial equity investment in Subconnex, reflecting its commitment to India’s next phase of digital infrastructure growth. The partnership is expected to create strategic value for both companies, with HENOX supporting Subconnex’s India-side requirements across cable landing infrastructure, terrestrial backhaul, data centre connectivity, and network services. A further Memorandum of Understanding has been signed which includes participation by HENOX at a fibre-pair level on the Subconnex subsea network.

The proposed Subconnex network is designed to create a high-capacity eastbound subsea communications corridor from the east coast of India to the west coast of the United States, with connectivity across Singapore, Indonesia, Guam, and key Southeast Asian markets. By offering an additional Indo-Pacific route, the system is expected to strengthen network diversity, improve resilience, and support scalable bandwidth between India, Southeast Asia, and North America.

The route also helps reduce reliance on traditional westbound corridors passing through operationally sensitive and heavily utilised areas such as the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea. It also provides an alternative to complex regional subsea routes where repair timelines, permitting processes, and upgrade cycles can affect network planning., Hence giving telecom operators, cloud providers, enterprises, and digital platforms greater flexibility in planning international connectivity.

The announcement comes at a time when India’s digital infrastructure demand is accelerating, driven by cloud adoption, artificial intelligence, 5G, content streaming, online gaming, enterprise digitisation, and hyperscale data centre growth. IDC has projected global spending on artificial intelligence to reach approximately US$630 billion by 2028, while GSMA has projected that 5G will account for 50% of mobile connections in Asia Pacific by 2030. India’s digital economy is also expected to grow almost twice as fast as the overall economy and contribute nearly onefifth of national income by 2029-30.

These trends make resilient India-US connectivity increasingly important. The HENOXSubconnex partnership is expected to support India’s position as a growing digital infrastructure hub by enabling stronger international connectivity for telecom operators, cloud providers, hyperscalers, enterprises, governments, and digital consumers. The route also reinforces Singapore’s role as a major Asian interconnection hub and strengthens Guam’s position as a strategic trans-Pacific connectivity point between Asia and North America.

“The combination of Subconnex’s unique system design, trusted project approach, and experienced team makes this partnership highly complementary to HENOX’s growth strategy,” said Mr. Shaktivel K, CEO, HENOX IT and Datacenters Private Limited. “Through this collaboration, HENOX aims to support the development of a future-ready digital corridor connecting India with Southeast Asia and the United States.”“Subconnex is building a subsea digital corridor designed for the next generation of cloud, AI, data centre, and enterprise connectivity,” said Simon ZETTL, Founder & CEO, Subconnex Pte Ltd. “Our collaboration with HENOX strengthens our India-side infrastructure capability and market alignment to the project, providing our customers additional connectivity solutions within India.”

Through this partnership, HENOX and Subconnex aim to support the next stage of global digital infrastructure development, with India positioned as a critical gateway in the future of transcontinental data movement.
