Keynote Panel: Safeguarding global network infrastructure- a national security imperative

06 May 2025
Keynote Stage
Security & Trust Keynotes Connectivity Infrastructure

Geopolitical upheaval has resulted in global outages and cyber-attacks aimed at disrupting major government agencies, civilian support systems, financial trading and infrastructure in markets all over the world. As we become increasingly interconnected, with complex digital infrastructure supporting international connectivity and critical services, securing our networks has become an imperative. Self-healing, self-provisioning, alive networks are part of the equation, but how do we solve for sustained resilience? This panel will explore:

  • The national security implications of network security and the role of policy-makers in shaping the risk-reward dynamic for industry players

  • Economic factors and investment to assure resilient, adaptable and secure networks

  • Evolving data security concerns as interoperable networks and hybrid solutions combining subsea and terrestrial links become more commonplace

  • Network planning strategies to build in diversity in critical areas, whilst optimising capex

  • The impact of critical infrastructure designations on business

  • Deploying quantum-safe networks
