ITW 2019 will be hosted in Downtown, Atlanta’s business hub. Largely known for CNN and Coca-Cola, Downtown is where all the big deals happen—but, when the working day is done, it is the business of going out and having a good time that sits high on the agenda. As everything is within a 10 minute walk of the ITW venue, why not discover what this neighbourhood has to offer you and your clients.
Rooftop bars like SkyLounge (top notch cocktails, even better views of the city) and WetBar (rooftop pool bar at the W Hotel) are great places to see and be seen, as is Polaris the rotating “blue dome” restaurant. It’s worth reserving a spot if you’re planning on embarking on a sophisticated journey.
While those looking for a real flavour of the city can try their luck at the Red Phone Booth – a notoriously hard-to-access speakeasy in the Old Dailey’s Building which you can only get entrance to by secret code. Find an existing member or make friends with a local barman for the digits, and a world of leather couches, plumes of cigar smoke and insanely good cocktails will be yours.
For a less challenging night out, safe bets are local hang-outs like Park Bar (tasty burgers, soccer on TV), Meehan’s Public House (hearty pub grub, beer on tap), STATS (the ultimate Atlanta sports bar) and Der Biergarten, where you can wash down some traditional German Bratwurst with some lip-smackingly good German pilsner. There’s also the popular chain Taco Mac, which boasts a gigantic menu and some really good craft beers.
After all that, if the rhythm is starting to get you, and you’re looking for a decent spot to show off your moves, you’ll find plenty of dance floors in the area. There’s something for everyone; from the “elegant, sexy and stylish” M Bar, to the iconic Royal Peacock which has seen greats like Ray Charles and B.B King put on shows, but now plies its wares more in reggae, hip hop and dancehall.
Whatever you’re looking to do, chances are it’s right there on your doorstep in Downtown Atlanta during ITW 2019.
