Zain Shamim
Zain Shamim is a senior investment professional focused on direct equity opportunities across emerging markets. He currently leads investments across the infrastructure and energy sectors at the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), where he structures and executes complex transactions alongside private investors, strategics, and development institutions.
His work spans digital infrastructure, energy, and other critical sectors that underpin economic growth. He frequently engages with institutional investors, operators, and policymakers on investment opportunities with extensive time and deal experience across emerging markets.
Prior to DFC, Zain was a principal investment professional in the private sector with experience across the capital structure and across industries. He began his career at Morgan Stanley and holds bachelor’s degrees in economics and accounting from the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business.
