Chris Pumphrey
Chris Pumphrey is a seasoned economic development executive and commercial real estate consultant with over two decades of experience driving high-impact capital investment and job creation. He bridges the gap between complex corporate requirements and community development goals.
Throughout his career, Chris has been instrumental in securing over $20 billion in capital investment and facilitating the creation of more than 5,000 jobs. His expertise lies in navigating the essential pillars of site selection—people, power, connectivity, land, and incentives—to deliver successful outcomes for global enterprises. He previously served as the President of the primary economic development organization for Douglas County, Georgia, where he founded their public private partnership, Elevate Douglas. While there he furthered advancements in workforce development, mixed use projects and strategic planning. Under his leadership he led the recruitment of industry leaders, including Microsoft, Google, AWS, Lionsgate and Zoetis.
An alumnus of Morehouse College with a B.A. in Economics, Chris is currently advancing his business acumen as an Executive MBA candidate at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School. His deep-rooted connection to the Atlanta professional community is reflected in his membership in the Leadership Atlanta Class of 2020, Leadership Georgia 2010 and serving on various affordable housing and workforce development boards.
Based in the Metro Atlanta area, Chris is known for a direct and practical advisory style. He leverages 15 years of localized expertise in Douglas County alongside a broad understanding of the U.S. site selection landscape to help clients identify and secure optimal locations for mission-critical infrastructure.
